A new season, announced silently

Autumn slips over Rancho Murieta gently, with shorter days and chilly nights and turning the leaves of one tree, then another, and another. Sunday afternoon, as sunset cast our bridge in gold, a lone tree was proof enough that a new season is on its way. (Click for larger image.)

Stonehouse Road traffic delays next week

Repairs to Stonehouse Road next week will mean "long wait periods," the Sacramento County Department of Transportation says. Workers will be repairing drainage ditches along the road, and it's recommended that travelers take Jackson Road to Latrobe Road to Scott Road as a detour. The work is supposed to start Monday and be done by Tuesday. (Thanks to member Betsy Guzzetta for posting the Caltrans link in the Forums.)

Pouring a foundation for improved security

Security meeting

Rancho Murieta Association Directors Jim Crowder, center, and Alex Bauer go over some suggestions offered by the three dozen Murietans who attended Wednesday night's meeting on security. The meeting was an attempt to gather community input on the issues we face in advance of Joint Security Committee meetings, which will be open to the public. The audience was divided into four groups and asked to make a circuit of the room, offering feedback about various issues that were offered as starting points. Coverage of the meeting is upcoming at RanchoMurieta.com. Click photo for larger image.
