Andrew Prouty, Stockton fire captain, dies at 47

A delegation of firefighters led by Stockton Fire Chief Ron Hittle came to the Prouty home in Rancho Murieta Monday to pay tribute to one of their own.

During his 15-year career with the Stockton Fire Department, Capt. Andrew Prouty pursued every opportunity for training and joined every kind of team, from rapid response to deep water rescue, Hittle told the family. He also used another set of skills to become the "go-to guy" for writing grants and developing proposals.
