Please do not update your windows 10 Updates

First, before going to the link provided below, you can google "ThioJoe" and look for " EMERGENCY VIDEO" who has sent this alert out to all windows 10 user's. The new update from Microsoft may "delete all your files". This is no hoax! As always, make sure you have a back up of all your file's and  your operating system. Many cloud based software allow you to upload all your files to the cloud and to save all your documents, pictures etc. Just make sure you also have a program that can. Clone your hard with all your programs on it. Many people do not think about reinstalling their program's ? For example, If you had to reinstall Outlook, QuickBooks, Auto Cad, a calendar program and you did not have your original CD? What would you do? Please think ahead before some virus attacks your computer and wipes your operating system or Microsoft sends out a bad update and ruins your operating systems. My hope is, you will not find yourself in a bad spot. If you own a Mac PC, Please have it setup with a time machine as well. Because , some  updates from apple can cause issue's with your Mac PC. And yes, mac's  computer's do get viruses on them.

ThioJoe is pure fiction

Please do not believe anything from "ThioJoe."  His videos are pure satire, and not rooted in fact.

There was no mass Windows 10 Update

Microsoft's mass rollout of version 1809 planned for 10/9 was halted.  It was not "taken back" as Damon shared.  It never went out.

You're all safe:

  • this update is not on your computer, and
  • you cannot unknowingly install it.

The few users that were impacted by release 1809 went out to the Microsoft site between 10/2 and 10/4 and MANUALLY downloaded the October 2018 update.  So unless you fall into this category, you have absolutely NOTHING to worry about.
