We are getting closer and closer to our Bicycle Pump Track Opening Day and need to start working full weekends to meet our deadline! Please try to make it out to as many of our work days as you can! THANK YOU!
We are having pump track build days this Saturday and Sunday , 6/22 and 6/23 starting at 9:00 am at Riverview Park. Volunteer work ends around Noon. Come for an hour or stay for three! We will have a shade structure out and plenty of cold water/drinks but feel free to bring your own.
We will clean and shape the dirt that has been placed for the intermediate/advanced track as well as continue finalization of the beginner course this weekend. Please bring any square point and round tip shovels, heavy garden rakes and work gloves you may have. We do have some extras for volunteer use as well so empty-handed hard workers are equally welcomed. :)
Kids - be sure your parents come with you as you will need to complete a waiver signed by one of them to help us build the pump track. KIDS UNDER 12 require parental supervision.
ANYONE UNDER 18 THAT WORKS ON THE PUMP TRACK THIS WEEKEND CAN BRING THEIR BIKE AND RIDE ON THE NEW COURSE!
Our track designer and pro rider George Stephenson III has given clearance to "ride in" the first part of the the bike course to help pack it in...a necessary part of the construction process.
And that means if you help us build then later you'll get to "work" by "riding"! At some point during the work day, we will allow supervised riding on the beginner course...
SO...ALL KIDS...BRING YOUR BIKE AND HELMET AND COME HELP US OUT!
Our opening day event co-sponsored by Kiwanis and Optimist Clubs in cooperation with Rancho Murieta Association and Murieta Trail Stewardship is currently scheduled for Saturday, July 13th. We plan to have food, music and fun for the kids and families as well as the opportunity to sign-up with waiver completion, collection of the annual $40 user fee (one per family), and issuing helmet stickers allowing use of the track.
PLEASE COME OUT to help us complete this great community amenity for our kids and families!
Thanks to all of you that have worked hard on this project so far!
