Candy Chand's latest piece in Bee

Neighbor Candy Chand has an opinion piece in this morning's Bee.  It's about a Sacramento man who has relocated his family to Ethiopia to rescue infants sentenced to die in a primitive custom.

Read the piece.

Thank you

Thanks for sharing the guest column, RM.com. I can't tell you what a pleasure it is to write something so positive about a (former) Sacramento developer.  Those who know me will realize how ironic that is... :) It's heroic work they're doing. Thanks for sharing!

Ethiopia

Yes Candy, ironic indeed. But credit where credit is due shows the metal you are made of.

Thank you

Thanks, Marklin. I'm working on a follow-up piece for the Bee now--after being contacted by Bale's adopted mother. :) Love the Drawn from Water story!

The Benkerts are amazing people, doing great humanitarian work.

The irony of Levi being a former Sacramento developer, who I respect tremendously, I believe, is just God's little sense of humor :)

Follow-up Article

I've ready both of Candy's articles on the Euthiopian Infanticide, it is amazing what goes on in the world that we don't know about.  Thank you Candy for this information.

Thanks beth

Thanks, Beth, for posting a link to todays piece, part 2. I love the Drawn from Water story. The book is scheduled for release in summer 2012, and a PBS documentary is in serious discussion.

Little Bale is an amazing child whose destiny I can't begin to imagine.
