Paul and Garrett Strohmaier at Garrett's graduation from Dartmouth.
Murietans who get food delivered by Schwan’s know Paul Strohmaier, who services this area. One neighbor mentions his deliveries to the Village and the personal care he always took with a wheelchair-bound Villager. “He was a really kind man,” the neighbor says.
Paul Strohmaier died the other day at the age of 58. He was in New Hampshire at the Dartmouth graduation of his son, Garrett, when he was stricken. Despite emergency surgery, he died the next day.
Garrett, a football star at Jesuit High and a multi-year player at Dartmouth, is the first person in the family to graduate with a four-year degree.
The family, including Paul’s wife, Heidi, lives in Elk Grove. They have a daughter, Brittany. And they have many bills.
If you care to help the family through this crisis, a friend has set up a GoFundMe page.
Garrett writes there, “While I remain optimistic about my ability to provide for both my mother and sister in the long-term, there are many immediate expenses that our family faces, as we arrange for my father's body to be transported from Manchester to California for his funeral, and as I search for a job that will allow me to support my family for years to come.”
