Please help: Rings lost on sport field

A Chico girls soccer team says its goalie lost two rings – they were from her grandmother – when the team played at Stonehouse Park April 29. Has anyone found a ring or rings on the soccer/lacrosse field?

Another thought: Does anyone have a metal detector and a spare half-hour to see if the rings can be found in the dirt?

Drop a note here if you can help. Thank you.

Metal Detector - Yes

We've got a ten year old that will love to go for a treasure hunt with his metal detector :).  Hopefully, he'll have some luck finding the rings.  I'll keep you posted.

Photo of a missing ring

Here's a photo of one of the rings – a class ring from, it looks like, 1955. Click on the photo to enlarge it.

Metal detector in search for rings

Not to discourage anyone's efforts, but Terry Cornwell posted this on RanchoMurieta.com's Facebook page this morning:

I walked both goal boxes and the sidelines with a detector and came up empty. They probably looked, but I’ve seen rings end up at the end of the keepers’ gloves. ... tough to detect because they’re thick.
