Warriors Games

Does anyone get the Warriors games that are suppose to be on Comcast Sports Net when they are using Greenfield?  I am trying to figure out if we have the issue or if it is Greenfield.

Backgound info: We had a reciever from Greenfield and they said I couldn't get CSN Bay Area because DISH was having an issue connecting. I waited for the issue to be cleared up but a month and half later it still wasn't cleared up. Everytime I called in, Greenfield told me to turn to channel 2 to see the game. There was no channel 2 with my DVR so I had them come out today to lower my package down to just basic cable so I could get channel 2.  Today, CSN Bay area worked great until game time. At that point, it went out. Channel 2 also isn't showing the game. Calling Greenfield has been SUPER unhelpful.  I really want to support the smaller company and I have enjoyed the technians I have met but I am getting really tired of not seeing the games. Thanks for your input!

CSN

I suspected this would happen. My sister has DISh and they black out Kings and Warriors games ( also Giants and A's games) This is complete rubbish to do this to residents. Im disappointed in what this company is doing

Kings/Warriors on DISH

I have been a DISH subscriber for over 10 years....they DO NOT show the games live....when you tune into CSN BAY AREA or CSN NO CAL .......at the times listed in the BEE the screen says "this game is not available in your area due to contract commitments " ......so it is not a Greenfield matter...I do not have RMA Greenfield TV.....but DISH direct .

The good news is DISH will  normally rebroadcast the Kings Games at 11:00 .... Of course you know the outcome by then.

Kings/Dish

Frank, you are mistaken.  I watch every Kings game live (tonight 7:30).  Use the Guide on your remote to locate the correct channel.  The games are sometimes listed on stations that are blacked out.  However, there is always a listed channel the shows the games, all in High Def.....All on Dish

Kings Games

Bill.....you are correct.   After my post I called DISH and got an informed customer rep who told me exactly what you discribed.   I saw the game live on channel 454 and it was also on 9577.

Thanks for the tip...should have called them sooner

Comcast

I am confused. Right now, I am still hooked up to RMA's TV as we have not yet been connected to the fiber. We presently get all the Giants games broadcast on Comcast as well as all the Kings and Warriors games. When the Greenfied deal was announced, we asked specifically what that would mean, specifically asking what would happen to our Giants coverage. The answer, at the time was, "nothing". We were told there would be an add on charge for the Comcast channels but the reduced cost of the basic package would make the total charge (for both Basic and Comcast) LESS than our current, basic RMA rate.

Is this still the story?  MLB.com blacks us out on home games. Direct TV would be the only option.

CSN Bay Area, CSN California

John,  since we have two different systems being operated, it's difficult to discern the confusion based on who has what.  I will try to clarify.

Greenfield Basic (fiber) carries both CSNBA and CSNCA which provides coverage for the Kings, Giants, A's and Sharks.   I understand, though, that you may have to turn to Channel 2 to watch Kings games in HD due to some issues that Greenfield is trying to work out with getting the correct feed from the provider (DISH) to play on the regular channel.

Upgraded fiber:  DISH Network with DISH boxes - you would get CSNBA or CSNCA based on the DISH package you subscribe to.

RMA Basic (legacy cable) also carries both CSNBA AND CSNCA, which provides coverage for the KIngs, Giants, A's and Sharks.

Warriors - I may be wrong on this, but I am not aware of CSNBA broadcasting any Warriors games in our area, whether on RMA legacy cable system,  Greenfield fiber, DISH or DirecTV.  I am still on RMA Cable (enhanced with Pace DVR), and Warriors games are always blacked out for me (except when they played the KIngs and you get the Kings feed with Grant Napear doing play by play).   My understanding is that Warrrior games are always blacked out in Sacramento County due to NBA territorial requirements because we are in Kings territory.   By the same token, Bay Area doesn't get the Kings games due to it being Warriors territory.  The cut-off line is around Vacaville, I believe.

If you want all Warriors games, you would have to subscribe to NBA League Pass on DISH when you get fiber (or DirecTV).

In any event, I will ask for clarification from Greenfield at the next Communications Committee meeting, and ask that they post something here on rm.com.

Warriors, Giants

I have the basic cable and I get the Warriors and the Giants.  By reading the posts it is obvious that there is a lot of confusion from "People in the know" about what Greenfield is "really" going to offer.  It was my understanding that this was going to be a "win, win" situation.  Hopefully if I stick to the basic package my present cable needs will not change.  We will see.

Thank you everyone for your

Thank you everyone for your input.

Philip- Do you have the Basic cable through RMA  still or Greenfield?

FYI: I saw some technicians working today so I asked them what was going on. Here is what they told me.

Dish technician- We will not get the Warriors games because we live in Sacramento. If we want to get Warriors games we have to buy the NBA league package. We will get Kings here because they are our regional team. I then asked about Giants and he said we would get Giants and A's because we don't have a MLB team in Sacramento.

Greenfield technician- Said what the DISH tech said was true but that they are trying to show all the Warrior games on channel 2 because it isn't a DISH channel and it is owned by the RMA. I told him I tried channel 2 the other night and it wasn't showing the game. He then told me that the RMA has to do something to get it to show and it must not have been done.

The good news is we will be getting the Giants games!

I get the Warriors and Giants on 73.12 which is the old RMA cable, we have not been switched yet. By the sounds of everyone's concerns I hope I never get switched.  But I guess that is just wishful thinking.  It concerns me that the technicians keep saying that the only way to get the Warriors is by subscribing to the NBA Network. All I want is what I have now.  I don't need 60 or 70 channels.

Warriors on RMA Cable (cable not fiber)

Interesting, I decided to test the RMA System tonight.  CSNBA on enhanced digital (Pace DVR) is channel 313.  The guide shows the programming to be Driven followed by Sportstalk Live.  However, the Warriors game is being shown.

I'm not sure why RMA Cable is getting the Warriors feed, but guide shows alternate program.  I do know the RMA contracts with CSNBA and CSNCA contain blackout provisions and that per NBA local Warriors broadcasts on CSNBA are not supposed to be broadcast in Kings territory - so maybe just some quirk is allowing reception of Warriors games.

As to the Channel 2 issue on Greenfield Basic (fiber) - my understanding is that Greenfield is utilizing that to get the broadcast feed for the Kings rather the the alternate feed, which somehow keeps defaulting to the regular CSNBA channel on Greenfield Basic.  I am not aware that Greenfield has (or could) be getting the Warriors games to be broadcast on Channel 2.

Warriors Games

Someone will have to physically switch the feed from the main to the alternate for every game. I don't see that happening.
