One of the best and most ejoyable ways for adults to stay in shape is dancing, and one of the best types of dancing to help women keep a graceful slender figure is ballet. Unlike other types of dance which are pounding, aerobics, ballet involves so much more and is so invigorating as well as relaxing and skill building. Finding a place for good adult instruction is not easy, especial way out here, but I finally found a great place right up in Elk Grove at Encore Dance Academy, which is right off the exit of Elk Grove Blvd. and Hwy 99. Lisa, the instructor is terrific with adults and conducts a wonderful class. If you took ballet as a child or teen, you will see immediatley this is authentic and worth the drive. The class is set up for Wednesdays at 9:00 A.M. but she needs at least 4-5 women to offer it.She might even be open to another day or time if it fit into her schedule. Along with dancing, I also love to sing, and I am not too bad at this either, but no soloist. Just a great harmonizer that would love to see a sharp group of women form a small community chorus or small group with a pianist or karaoke back-up music who wants to learn some great songs, such as Broadway medlies, harmony favorites, etc. Of course we would need a leader- one who plays piano and hopefully has choral instruction experience in her past. Is there any interest out there??
