Rancho Murieta children between the ages of 8 and 17 again have the opportunity to take a free plane ride and join the ranks of the Young Eagles on Sunday, April 6, from 9 a.m. to noon, during the airport?s monthly open house for the public. A free pancake breakfast will be served by the Flying Vikings Club and vintage aircraft will be on display.
The Rancho Murieta Aviators group hosts Young Eagles events several times during the year, offering free flights on planes and helicopters to local youth on a first-come, first-served basis. The Young Eagles program was founded in 1992 by the Experimental Aircraft Association to provide young people with an introduction to flying. Parental application and permission forms are provided at the event.
