Seven unlocked cars in Murieta North were burglarized late Tuesday or early Wednesday, Security reports.

Chief Greg Remson said Thursday there were six unlocked cars parked in driveways and one unlocked car parked in a garage where the side door was not locked. The streets involved were Venado, Rio Blanco, Rio Oso, Camino De Luna, Via Sereno, Pescado and Colina.

Remson said items taken included a purse, an iPod, two pairs of sunglasses and $40 in cash. One of the pairs of sunglasses were Von Zipper brand, the "Clutch" model, he reported, adding there is a "VZ" logo on the frame, which is a tortoise/bronze color.

This catalogue photo shows the type of sunglasses that were stolen.

"Again, I remind everyone to lock their cars," Remson wrote in an e-mail, "and do not leave any valuables inside."

Last month, more than a dozen cars were broken into in Murieta North, some of them by prying doors or breaking windows.

The Community Services District is offering a $1,000 reward for information that leads to arrest and conviction for crimes committed in the community.
