The Rancho Murieta Association vehicle used for compliance enforcement had its tires slashed over the weekend, the second tire-slashing to hit the SUV in a week.

Ian Hunt, the RMA's compliance officer, discovered the vandalism when he reported for work Monday morning. Hit were tires that had been replaced the other day, after the first incident. "The tires didn't have 10 miles on them," Hunt said.

He said a hole was punched in the sidewalls of tires on the passenger side both times.

The vehicle was parked in the RMA lot. In the first incident. it was parked in a corner of the lot where the passenger side wasn't visible from Murieta Parkway. In the second incident, the vehicle was parked closer to the entrance of the lot, but the passenger side still faced the 11th fairway, according to Security Chief Greg Remson.

The Rancho Murieta Community Services District is offering a reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the vandals, Remson said in an e-mail Monday.

cameras

Costco on sunrise last week had a multiple exterior camera system that both lights up the area and then records what is in range.  It can be mounted on walls or poles.  It was around 5 or 6 hundred as I recall.  This type of system might be more palatable to those who are against using cameras as I think it only activates when tripped.

Existing CC Cameras?

With all of the turn-over in the CATV staff we have witnessed over the past few years I understand how this could be overlooked. I am wondering who is responsible for the swapping of tapes and monitoring of the closed circuit cameras that we currently utilize at Stonehouse park, Riverview park, and on the light pole between the North Gate and the RMA?

Maybe the camera on the pole on the North Parkway could simply be reaimed to cover the RMA parking lot ?
