Security received three reports of thefts Saturday. In two incidents on the South, cash and other items were reported taken from two unlocked vehicles parked overnight in driveways on Wadkins Court and Callaway Drive, Security Chief Greg Remson said Monday. A garage on Venado Drive on the North was entered too, he said, and fishing equipment was reported stolen.
The victim of one of the South thefts posted on RM.com about the items that were taken, placing a value of $1,300 on a video iPod, designer sunglasses, purse, wallet, two jackets and other items removed from the vehicle. Cash was stolen from the other vehicle on the South, Remson said. The garage on Venado Drive was entered through a side garage door with no sign of force, Remson noted. Two G. Loomis fishing rods and two reels were taken and nothing else was reported missing.
Remson reminds residents not to leave any property and valuables in your car, always lock the doors, and park in the garage when possible.
"Even when you visit the Plaza all property and packages should be left in the trunk or taken with you. Also keep your doors locked at your house, including the side garage door. Make sure all doors and windows are locked, even if you leave for just a few minutes," he cautioned.
