The Rancho Murieta Association board voted unanimously Tuesday night to end bar-code access for Village residents on Jan. 1 after a breakdown in negotiations over a proposed access fee. The board also delayed action on a request by the Murieta Bulldogs youth baseball team to be allowed to use community sports fields for their practices. In a split vote, the Rancho Murieta Association board Thursday night approved a 2019 budget that will increase monthly member dues to $143 – a $4 increase, or 2.9 percent. Here’s a chance to pitch in to help keep Rancho Murieta’s lakes beautiful. Lake Clean-Up Day is Saturday from 8 to 11 a.m. Meet at Lake Clementia at 8 a.m. for assignments. Bags, gloves and litter catchers will be provided by the Rancho Murieta Association. Teens and youngsters working for community service credits are welcome. The day is sponsored by Saving Our Lakes & Open Spaces (SOLOS), the Rancho Murieta Fishing Club and the Murieta Trails Stewardship. There will be coffee, hot chocolate and pastries. After months of delay, the Rancho Murieta Association on Monday accepted delivery of new restrooms to serve Lake Clementia's beach, park and amphitheater. The new facilities are far better than the portable toilets that have graced the lake until now. When this photo was taken, RMA workers hadn't finished leveling the trailer. Further work includes railings around the entry ramp, security cameras and new trees to dress it all up.   The restrooms, which cost $46,780, are handsome – heated, air-conditioned and lighted, with sinks and three stalls in the women's bathroom; sinks, two urinals and one stall in the men's and a toilet and sink in the ADA-compliant unisex bathroom. Rancho Murieta Association Directors Jim Crowder, center, and Alex Bauer go over some suggestions offered by the three dozen Murietans who attended Wednesday night's meeting on security. The meeting was an attempt to gather community input on the issues we face in advance of Joint Security Committee meetings, which will be open to the public. The audience was divided into four groups and asked to make a circuit of the room, offering feedback about various issues that were offered as starting points.
