Security: 11-year-olds caught in vandalism; thieves target golf clubs

The Rancho Murieta Association’s recent decision to install cameras at the parks paid off when suspects were caught on video breaking out glass blocks at the Riverview Park restroom.  Three suspects were identified from the surveillance video. They were two girls and a boy, all age 11, Security Chief Greg Remson said Tuesday. He also outlined a string of golf-club thefts in which the clubs apparently are being sold by the thieves. Guest passes available for Easter weekend

Guest passes are being offered for Easter weekend to help speed holiday traffic through the gates and eliminate backups, Security Chief Greg Remson announced Friday. Residents can pick up passes similar to the ones used for the Fourth of July at the Rancho Murieta Association office during regular business hours. Security reports 15 thefts from cars in January

There were 15 thefts from unlocked vehicles reported in January, Security Chief Greg Remson told the Community Services District Security Committee Friday. "These seem to be crimes of opportunity, and preventable crimes," he said. No one has been arrested in the thefts.  Also, Security received a package apparently returning stolen items. RMA says it's on verge of getting PTF funding for North Gate

The stalemate over a design for the North Gate remodel is expected to end soon and the Rancho Murieta Association will be in charge of the project, RMA General Manager Nick Arther reported at the first Joint Security Committee meeting of the new year. The committee also reviewed golf cart rules and Security patrol procedures during a 40-minute session at the clubhouse in Murieta Village last week. Girl says teens hit her in head with rock

Sheriff’s personnel are investigating a 9-year-old Rancho Murieta girl’s report that she was attacked last week by two teenage boys who hit her in the head with a rock.  In one version of the story circulating in the community, the boys used racial epithets and taunted the girl, who is said to be African-American. CSD board pushes staff to remove controversial redwood
