The first meeting of the newly reconstituted Joint Security Committee takes place Monday at 10 a.m. at the Community Services District Building. The CSD and the Rancho Murieta Association will be represented by directors who were appointed to the committee. The Country Club, Villas, Murieta Village, Equine Center and other commercial interests also have been invited to participate. The agenda is here. Last month, Rancho Murieta learned the Community Services District can enforce a water-conservation ordinance but its Security officers can't enforce a curfew or vandalism ordinance. [Updated May 21] The Rancho Murieta Association board of directors voted unanimously Tuesday night to try a month's experiment tending the front lawns of 10 homes that are being foreclosed. A car parked in the driveway of a home on Carreta Lane was vandalized with paint late Saturday or early Sunday.

“This is a felony. That’s what the Sheriff’s Department told me,” the owner of the white 1998 Mercedes said Sunday morning as he attempted to clean up the paint caked on his car and smeared on the driveway and walkway.
