Members of the Community Services District Security Committee heard residents' concerns about drug use at the community's parks and gathering places Tuesday as resident Jerry Smith asked the CSD to implement 13 measures that came out of the forum he held last week at the Rancho Murieta Community Church.

The measures include creating a police force for Rancho Murieta and adopting county ordinances for drug use and underage drinking.

New bridge hit with graffiti for third time

The paint was still tacky when the latest graffiti attack on the pedestrian bridge was discovered around 6 a.m. Friday.

"It wasn't here at a quarter to three," said Security Chief Greg Remson as he surveyed black and white scrawling on the deck and top railing. One of the massive concrete support pillars of the graceful wooden bridge had graphics sprayed in white paint and a dark, reddish-brown hue.

Bridge hit by graffiti vandals -- again

For the second time in the two months since it opened, the community's landmark bridge has been hit by graffiti vandals.

Cleaning up

It happened overnight, Security Chief Greg Remson reported Friday.  By midday, RMA maintenance workers -- from left, Bruce Bragg, Troy Schaffner and Trevor Hammonds -- were cleaning up the mess, at the bridge's north end.  The Security photo below shows the amount of graffiti.

Remson asked that anyone with information contact Security at 354-CARE.  "We'd like to hear from people who know anything, or if their kids know anything," he said.  (Previous incident is here.)

Vandals inflicted over $1,000 worth of damage Monday night to two 2006 Cadillacs in the driveway of Jon and Susan Snyder's home on Guadalupe Drive.

After six months of remodeling their home, with their cars parked in the drive, the Snyders were on the verge of reclaiming space in the garage for their cars when vandals struck.

"You just don't think of things like this happening in this neighborhood," Jon Snyder said. "It's so frustrating."
