Jeremy Hawk

After 13 years as a gate officer, Jeremy Hawk is leaving after today to become a nurse.

When Jeremy Hawk started working as a security officer at the North Gate in January 2002, he got to know the ebb and flow of visitors and residents through the gate. At that time, many residents preferred using the visitor lane to rolling down the car window and swiping a card. By fall, barcode readers had been installed on the North and South to let residents pass through the gates without stopping, and there was much talk about constructing a new North gate. Sheriff’s, Rancho Murieta Security and fire personnel converged on Lake Clementia Park Tuesday afternoon after a fisherman reported seeing a vehicle with a body inside parked near the water. Officials at the scene declined to comment beyond saying they provided an emergency response to a call received about 2 p.m. concerning an unresponsive man. Sgt. Lisa Bowman, spokesperson for the sheriff's department, said emergency personnel were initially concerned that a canister on the car seat contained chemicals, but it turned out to be a CO2 canister. “We will have to wait for the coroner’s determination if officially it was a suicide, but on the surface it appears it was a planned event,” Bowman said.
