A disagreement over the strategy for security cameras around the community surfaced at Wednesday's monthly Community Services District board meeting. The board also updated its policy for body cameras for Security officers, agreed to talk with the Rancho Murieta Association about a new gate policy and declared a Stage 2 water emergency. RMA: Get a bar code by July 1 or get cited

The Rancho Murieta Association says as of July 1 it will begin citing residents who don’t have bar codes on their vehicles, including golf carts.  When the new North Gate is complete, in several weeks, bar codes will become essential to manage traffic there, especially vehicles making the left onto Lago, according to RMA and Security. CSD discusses water plant delays, gun incident

The CSD board last week approved spending up to $304,560 for a temporary filtration system to handle delays in getting its new water treatment plant online. Career change for a 13-year gate officer

After 13 years as a gate officer, Jeremy Hawk is leaving after today to become a nurse.

When Jeremy Hawk started working as a security officer at the North Gate in January 2002, he got to know the ebb and flow of visitors and residents through the gate. At that time, many residents preferred using the visitor lane to rolling down the car window and swiping a card. By fall, barcode readers had been installed on the North and South to let residents pass through the gates without stopping, and there was much talk about constructing a new North gate. CSD discusses handling of weapon arrest

RMA offers holiday guest passes

The Rancho Murieta Association is providing guest passes for the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays so residents can make sure their guests have an easier time entering the community during construction of the North Gate. The passes are available now at the RMA Building during regular business hours. Thanksgiving passes cover Nov. 27 through 30 and Christmas passes cover Dec. 24 through 28. Here's a video look at the first couple of days of the Rancho Murieta Association's project to rebuild the North Gate.  All North residents will be inconvenienced most of the winter, but the biggest problems so far have been around handling school bus pick-ups and drop-offs.  Want to know more? CSD enacts mandatory water restrictions

The Rancho Murieta Community Services District board of directors voted last week for mandatory water restrictions that limit landscape watering to two days a week effective Sept. 1. The board took the action to reduce water use while one phase of the water treatment plant is shut down for construction of a new plant in its place, and to comply with a state requirement for a 20 percent reduction in water use.
