The Rancho Murieta Country Club presented an outsized check for $13,040 to Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District officials Thursday for the purchase of a Lucas device, a new piece of medical equipment that delivers constant, perfect CPR to patients in emergency situations. The club donated a portion of its holiday party proceeds and solicited sponsorships for the purchase.
Although the fundraising effort fell short of its $15,000 cost, Sac Metro Fire Chief Kurt P. Henke said the Lucas device will be on an ambulance serving Rancho Murieta soon. The CPR device is viewed as vital, fire officials said, since the community is at a distance from hospitals. Read more » about Club donates $13,000 to buy CPR device for RM
