CSD says it will continue Joint Security meetings without RMA

The Community Services District will continue its participation in the Joint Security Committee even though the Rancho Murieta Association voted last month to quit the committee. E-mail scam making the rounds in RM

No, neighbor Natachia Taylor isn’t stuck in London and doesn’t need your help.  It’s an e-mail scam that apparently has hit more than one person in Rancho Murieta in the last 24 hours.

An e-mail, supposedly from Taylor, arrived at RM.com overnight.  Its message:

Fire investigators check incendiary device found outside North home

Fire investigators continue to probe a device capable of starting a fire that was found outside a Murieta North residence.  The "crude incendiary device" was found Jan. 22 on the ground near trash cans on Cazador, according to Sacramento Metropolitan Fire Captain Christian Pebbles.  Pebbles declined to provide details about the device on Tuesday because of the ongoing investigation. CSD approves sewer plan, discusses wastewater in brief meeting

Community learns how to launch a Neighborhood Watch program

Sgt. Greg Hanks and Crime Prevention Specialist Laura Grossman of the Sacramento Sheriff's Department-South Bureau appeared at Tuesday's Rotary Club meeting to talk about Neighborhood Watch and the benefits of being involved with the program.

The community took a tentative step toward having a Neighborhood Watch program Tuesday night when about 20 residents attended a presentation at the Villas Clubhouse. Crime Prevention Specialist Laura Grossman and other members of the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department-South Bureau discussed the program and answered questions during an hour-long session hosted by the Rotary Club.
