The Country Club announced Saturday that thanks to responses from Murietans, it believes it has identified the two young men who vandalized the club early Wednesday and consumed alcoholic beverages. Resident arrested after brandishing shotgun

A resident was taken into custody Thursday night after allegedly brandishing a shotgun and shouting at a passerby.

Security Sgt. Mike Scarzella said Friday night that he answered a call “regarding a subject that was possibly armed” and made contact with the man in the front yard of a Guadalupe Drive residence. Scarzella described the man as “compliant” and said the gun was unloaded. 

After sheriff’s deputies arrived, the subject fled and was apprehended a short time later near Pescado Circle and 1 Park. Deputies placed him under arrest.  Scarzella said he did not know what the charges were, and a sheriff’s spokesperson was not available to provide details Friday night, when RanchoMurieta.com learned of the incident. Two vehicles stolen in Village and nearby

Two vehicle thefts occurred overnight Monday, Security reports. A  golf cart was stolen from Carmella Circle in Murieta Village and a pickup truck was taken from nearby Operating Engineers Local Union No. 3 training center on Cantova Way. A second truck at the Operating Engineers parking lot was broken into and a Corvette at the Village location was gone through, according to Security Log entries.

Security Chief Greg Remson said Wednesday that the golf cart was recovered at Rancho Murieta Airport and returned to the owner, but the truck is still missing. California Highway Patrol was notified of the vehicle crimes. Read more » about Two vehicles stolen in Village and nearby
