RM sting nets 11 as unlicensed contractors

A state undercover sting last week in Rancho Murieta resulted in 11 people being charged with illegal contracting after they bid on painting, fencing and landscaping jobs without the proper license.

A $3,800 bid was offered for drought-resistant landscaping – far beyond the $500 limit on labor and materials charges allowed for unlicensed construction contractors, according to the state Contractors State License Board. Read more » about RM sting nets 11 as unlicensed contractors

Group discusses North Gate, security cameras

Thieves get motor home from storage facility

A Murieta family reported on Tuesday that its motor home was stolen from the Cantova Way mini-storage facility that had been hit by thieves twice already this year, most recently early this month.

Jerry Wall said he discovered on Monday that his motor home was gone along with all of its contents.  “It was full of dishes, binoculars, all my fishing gear, stoves, barbecues, on and on,” he said. He said the home had a 47-inch TV and two smaller TVs among its amenities.

Wall said he last checked on his vehicle following the Oct. 4 theft of a pickup truck, a collectible car and tools from the facility. Read more » about Thieves get motor home from storage facility

Two single-vehicle golf cart accidents resulted in DUI arrests last month, Security Chief Greg Remson told the Community Services District Security Committee. Equestrian Center golf cart is stolen

The Murieta Equestrian Center asks your help in locating its stolen golf cart.  It was discovered missing Thursday morning, and juveniles have been spotted cruising in it, a center employee reported Friday.  The cart is described as an E-Z-GO four-seater, green, and "Equestrian Center dirty," according to the employee. Free internet safety class offered on May 8
