Street work on Murieta Drive Wednesday

Expect delays Wednesday if you head over to Murieta Plaza, Murieta Village or the Airport. Murieta Drive will be reduced to one lane of traffic throughout the day, with a flagman helping direct traffic through the single lane. The Rancho Murieta Association indicated its disinterest in creating a new committee to come up with a trails map for the community, as the Community Services District suggested last month. Landlords challenge club on sale possibilities

Carol Anderson Ward and John Sullivan – longtime Murietans, Country Club members and more recently North developers and owners of the club’s land – say club officials are promoting a fiction in this month’s election when they give the impression there are ongoing talks with Bob Husband about the possible purchase of the club. A resolute Rancho Murieta Association board unanimously approved a master parks trail plan to be funded by developers and directed its Parks Committee representatives to vote in favor of the plan after it was presented at Tuesday night’s RMA meeting. Greens Park in South is moving ahead

Despite the heat, workers labored Tuesday on the Greens Park, off Jigger Court in Murieta South, preparing the site for concrete work scheduled for next week. The first phase of the three-acre park, which is surrounded by a wetlands preserve, features a playground. The Parks Committee approved a $360,000 plan to develop the park in January. About half the funding comes from the parks fund, which is built on developer and Rancho Murieta Association contributions.
