County planners approve Murieta Gardens development

The Sacramento County Planning Commission voted Monday to recommend Murieta Gardens, a commercial and residential project, to the Board of Supervisors for approval.   The five planning commissioners voted unanimously to approve the project after planning staff, developer representatives, a consultant for the Rancho Murieta Community Services District and a CSD official answered questions about various aspects, including the availability of water. RMA will hold final session on proposed community center

The last of three meetings about a proposal for a member-funded community recreation and aquatic center takes place at the Rancho Murieta Association Building Saturday at 1 p.m.

A brochure about the project was mailed to RMA members in August. In addition to information about the center and funding options, the brochure includes a survey to determine if members are interested in moving forward with the project. RMA is pushing for North Gate traffic plan that keeps Lago turn

The Rancho Murieta Association’s determination to keep the left turn onto Lago Drive is the driving force in the new traffic design for the North Gate. RMA General Manager Nick Arther said engineers for the Pension Trust Fund for Operating Engineers had opposed the turn but came up with a design that a Maintenance Committee member called “not a lot different from what we have now” to accommodate the RMA’s insistence. Although the Community Services District Security Committee saw the plan last week and found it lacking, the RMA Maintenance Committee voted Monday to recommend the plan to the RMA board. Community sees first draft of new North Gate traffic design

A first cut at a traffic design for the much-anticipated rebuild of the North Gate has arrived. Now the question is, will it meet the community's goals for the project?

The design modifies a plan the Rancho Murieta Association board approved five years ago and submitted to the Pension Trust Fund for Operating Engineers last year.  The PTF committed to rebuilding the North Gate using $1.4 million in funding under the terms of the Mutual Benefit Agreement signed with the RMA. Planning group hears proposed changes for Airport, Sloughhouse Inn

A plan to add storage for recreational vehicles and boats on 15 acres of unused property at Rancho Murieta Airport made its debut at the Cosumnes Community Planning Advisory Council Wednesday evening. The council also heard a proposal intended to divide the historic Sloughhouse Inn property to help sell it and a request for a use permit authorizing the present scope of operations at the Davis Ranch produce stand.
